Birce Altay Birce is the Director of the GivingTuesday Europe Hub, where she leads the development of the organisation’s strategy, partnerships and programmes across the region. She works closely with GivingTuesday country leaders, philanthropic organisations, researchers and cross-sector partners to strengthen ecosystems of generosity and civic participation.
Her work focuses on connecting people, ideas and evidence to better understand and grow generosity across Europe. She leads initiatives that bring together data, research and practical learning, helping translate insights into collaborative action while fostering stronger networks and shared approaches across countries.
Before joining GivingTuesday Europe, Birce worked to strengthen civil society by advancing philanthropy infrastructure, promoting strategic giving and fostering cross-sector collaboration. She also led GivingTuesday Türkiye and developed programmes and tools that encourage greater individual giving and community participation.
